Don't let the title fool you. If people want to stay abstinent, then that's fine. What I'm really against is schools teaching kids abstinence and nothing else.

When you remain abstinent, you're in a battle against Mother Nature, and you're either going to lose, or you're going to be miserable. And usually the same people who preach abstinence-only also tell you that masturbation is a sin. Staying abstinent is a lot easier if you can masturbate, but when you're also being told not to do that,....well, fuck, you better not have a loaded gun in the room because you just might want to kill yourself :| No, masturbation is perfectly natural and healthy. It's nothing to be ashamed of doing.

When kids don't get the proper education about sex and aren't told about protection, then you can almost guarantee they'll be parents by the time they graduate high school. Not only that, they are at risk of getting an STD, and the abortion rates go up. Whether or not you teach kids abstinence, or about condoms and birth control, they're still going to have sex. Wouldn't you rather they be protected?

And don't bother sending any "I don't masturbate or have sex and I'm fine!" comments. I'm perfectly aware that there are some people who, amazingly, just don't care about sex. But the same can't be said for everyone.

Couldn't agree more. That's one thing that's always pissed me off about the education system.

I love your icon, by the way.

Agreed 100%. And plus, masturbation can contribute to longevity. (like with males masturbation decreases chances of prostate cancer)

Exactly. And I've heard that with females it can lighten menstrual cramps. BIG plus for us gals.

Faved. I read the review of abstinence-only education by the American House of Representatives and it was terrifying. They teach that bullcrap at some schools here in Australia, too. :(

*shudders* I'm glad I didn't get education like that in school. Seriously, what's wrong with these fucktards?
